2026 has been the busiest year in a long time for large-format live music in Zambia. Two stadium-scale international shows, a returning bank festival, a new international lifestyle festival and the biggest local reunion events in the country all landed within twelve months.
Davido closes out the 5ive Alive Tour in Lusaka — 1–2 May
The headline of the year. Davido brought the African finale of the 5ive Alive Tour to Zambia with two consecutive shows: a premium night at Ciela Resort on 1 May, then a stadium show at Polo Field Showgrounds on 2 May.
The Polo Field date shut down a 35,000-capacity venue. Reports described it as historic for the local scene — and it was the first time a Nigerian Afrobeats act closed out a global tour in Zambia rather than kicking off a leg.
The premium night
The Ciela Resort event on 1 May was a networking event rather than a standard concert, headlined by Rick Ross with ticket prices from K15,000 to K25,000. The bill also featured Cindy le Coeur, Koffi Olomide and local acts Danny Kaya and Prince Luv. It is the clearest example of the premium end of Lusaka's entertainment market in 2026.
Stanbic Music Festival — 3 October, Lusaka
The Stanbic Music Festival returned after a pause in 2025, held at Polo Field A, Lusaka Showgrounds from 12:30 to 23:30, with Jason Derulo confirmed as headliner.
Stanbic describes the event as a platform for live music, food, art and fashion, aimed at Zambia's contemporary entertainment audience. It was a one-night-only date.
DWANI FEST — 10 October, Lusaka
A new international lifestyle and music festival at T3C Gardens, Puma Energy, Lusaka, running from 14:00. Positioned as more than a concert — Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, DJs and sunset sets, plus food and fashion vendors, art installations, VIP experiences and a creator component.
DWANI FEST is the interesting one to watch. It launched this year with an explicit international positioning and drew a strong early social following. Whether it converts that into a multi-year event is the open question, but it is the most credible new festival on the Lusaka scene this year.
Strictly Soul — 17 October, Lusaka
Strictly Soul brought its R&B party to Zambezi Lifestyle Lounge, Lusaka on Saturday 17 October, running 19:00 to 01:00 on 18 October. They bill it as Africa's biggest R&B party.
90's Reunion Festival — 31 October, Lusaka
The biggest locally-produced music event of the quarter. 90's Reunion Festival at R&G Arena, Lusaka on 31 October drew over 1,000 registrations in advance and hundreds more expected on the day.
This is the domestic headline — Zambian acts from the 1990s playing a full reunion bill, with the R&G Arena becoming the de facto home of large Lusaka music nights. It runs alongside a related 90's Reunion Party Festival listing on the same date.
Lusaka Carnival — 20–21 November, Lusaka
The year closes at NASDEC Sports Complex with a Home Coming Fete on Friday and a carnival parade plus concert on Saturday, headlined by Caribbean star Nailah Blackman. The organisers frame it explicitly as African and Caribbean culture meeting.
The pattern worth noting
Three things stand out across 2026's Zambian live music calendar:
- International acts are committing to stadium dates, not just one premium night. Davido played both a K15,000+ resort event and a 35,000-fan free-standing show in consecutive nights. That is a deliberate dual-market strategy, and Lusaka can now support it.
- The Polo Fields have become the default big venue. Showgrounds Polo Field A hosted Stanbic and Davido. NASDEC is emerging as the second large outdoor site.
- Domestic events are consolidating into branded festivals rather than one-off shows — the 90's Reunion Festival drew a bigger local crowd than most international dates.
Buying tickets safely
Buy from the organiser's official platform or an authorised local reseller. Reseller listings for Lusaka events are frequently duplicated, re-dated or already sold out, and the venue name alone is not proof of authenticity.
